Making the Engagement Department Engaging

UCLA's Student Organizations, Leadership and Engagement Department tasked me with redesigning their bi-weekly newsletter for 2022's Spring quarter. I completely overhauled the old design and shifted the entire department's branding on a modern approach: bold and clean typography, school-spirit-centered color palette, and simple yet impactful graphics. The cover of the Spring edition newsletter features a deconstructed illustration of the university's Kerckhoff Hall.

Branding the Digital

I brought the new SOLE brand to its website, incorporating additional secondary colors to the palette while maintaining the simple, striking images. The administration also sought to revamp the department's in-house internship program, to which I created a set of an off-shoot, sister-brand guidelines and social content. I was also responsible for branding and advertising the department's humanitarian awards ceremony, which was hosted at the end of the academic year.
